Editor (Localization) - Contractor
About The Role:
Join Paysend to shape the future of a fintech brand trusted by over 11 million customers worldwide and help us build the world’s largest digital payments network to simplify money transfers for everyone.
As our Localization Manager, you'll support and help shape Paysend's localization efforts, ensuring consistent and culturally relevant content across global markets. Reporting to the Localization Lead, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams: executing high-quality localization projects that serve consumer customers, enterprise clients, and corporate stakeholders alike.
Recognized by Deloitte as one of the UK’s fastest-growing tech companies, we offer flexible work arrangements, career growth opportunities, and a culture that values inclusion, bold thinking, and meaningful design.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Editing & Proofreading
Review and refine translated content to ensure it reads naturally, accurately, and fluently in the target language
Proofread for grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting errors
Polish tone and register so content aligns with brand voice while remaining culturally appropriate for each market.
Quality & Consistency
Ensure terminology, style, and tone remain consistent across all content by working closely with localization glossaries and style guides.
Maintain and help evolve these glossaries, style guides, and reference libraries to strengthen linguistic and brand coherence.
Carry out linguistic quality checks and flag inconsistencies, ambiguities, or mistranslations for correction.
Collaboration & Feedback
Provide clear, constructive feedback, contributing to feedback cycles that raise overall translation quality.
Liaise with the Localization Teama to ensure edited content meets brief, tone, and deadline expectations.
Contribute to continuous process improvement by surfacing recurring issues and suggesting refinements.
Tools & Workflow
Work within CAT and localization tools such as Crowdin and Lokalise to review files, track changes, and monitor progress.
Manage editing tasks day-to-day, keeping timelines and deliverables on track.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:
Native or native-level fluency in the target language
Proven experience in editing and proofreading, ideally within a localization or translation context.
Familiarity with CAT tools (e.g., Crowdin, Lokalise, Smartling, memoQ, Trados, or similar).
Experience with AI-assisted translation and post-editing (MTPE) workflows.
A sharp eye for tone, consistency, and detail, with the ability to spot subtle errors and maintain voice across large volumes of content.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
A proactive, quality-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
What Would Be a Plus:
Proficiency in additional languages beyond the target language and English.
Prior work with fintech, payments, or another internationally operating industry.
Basic understanding of HTML, JSON, or content management systems.
Basic understanding of TMS integrations or localization automation concepts.
Experience in a tech or digital product environment.
