About The Role:

As the Head of Reconciliations and Settlement, you will be leading a core operational team within the finance organization, responsible for transactional reconciliation and financial settlement for approximately 60 operating partners globally.

You will lead a team of 16 individuals, having three direct reports, and will help drive process automation, data integrity, exchange and oversight, in addition to helping articulate the vision for the future of the department.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

• Oversee daily partner transactional volume reconciliations across the team members, quickly identifying operational gaps

• Support the staff in obtaining partners’ responses to queries ascertaining accuracy and completeness of volumes and transactions reconciled daily

• Drive the agenda for automation, eliminating manual workaround and defining the requirements for proper reporting to Paysend’s products and engineering teams

• Partner internally across the organization to improve internal financial processes, generating timely resolution of unresolved transactions (i.e. manual refunds, disputes, etc.)

• Significanlty further Paysend’s understanding of partners’ cost of sales, implementing a sustainable process for validating monthly, quarterly and annual costs accurately, as the case may be

• Have responsibility over partners’ ending balance determination, ensuring that balances are accurately determined on a daily basis

• Engage with Paysend’s financial accounting and reporting, as well as with the treasury team, automating and improving partners balance determination, validation of settlement against bank accounts, and related entries to the general ledger

• Drive the agenda for partner onboarding, determining and enforcing the minimum partners’ data requirements and ensuring automated ingestion of partners’ data by Paysend

• Articulate reporting requirements in the instances of changes to the existing product platform and or implementation of new products and related features

• Help articulate the requirements for safeguarding reporting, as applicable from jurisdiction to jurisdiction in partnership with the accounting, reporting and treasury teams

• As an internal customer of Paysend’s Engineering team, you will exercise discipline in regards to the process and related SLA’s governing:

• identification of reporting issues

• development of business requirements for resolution by products and technologies

• oversight appropriate internal testing by the reconciliation team

• sign off on the resolution of the reporting issue

• Support group reporting during the annual financial statements audit, providing necessary supporting documentation for the transactional audit samples

What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:

• A tenured people leader, with a proven record of being able to motivate and continuously enhance staff performance

• Extensive experience in financial services with a deep understanding of data flow, and related transaction attributes and proven record of managing high volumes of transactional data daily

• Experience in money transmission, fintech and fast paced consumer services is a strong plus

• Experience with card schemes and understanding of Visa and Mastercard operating model is highly desired

• Expertise in data mining and manipulation, and proven “hand on” record of driving automation and reporting output from centrally stored database (i.e. programming skills is also a strong plus)

• Ability to quickly diagnose problem areas and craft holistic action plans for remediation/resolution

• Strong understanding of accounting and reporting, in addition to finance operations (i.e. accounts receivable and related reporting)

• A highly motivated individual who challenges the status quo, and collaborates across lines of business while driving results

• Ability to work across teams and geographies

• Hybrid work environment with a requirement for 2-3 days a week in the Serbian office (Belgrade)

• Fluent in English

• Some international trips may be required
