About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Tech Lead to spearhead a brand-new technology initiative within our growing team. This role is central to driving the automation of treasury operations, an exciting project with a projected timeline of 2 years. As the Tech Lead, you will be responsible for guiding and growing a small yet impactful team (2-3 engineers) while ensuring the technical vision is achieved. The role will require a strong leader capable of maintaining the architectural integrity of our custom product development framework (Paysend 3.0) while keeping development processes at the highest standards.



What You'll Do (Responsibilities): 

• Lead and mentor a small team of 2-3 engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, learning, and excellence.
• Drive the architectural direction for the project, ensuring all technical decisions align with both short-term goals and long-term strategy.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers (PMs) to define, plan, and deliver the objectives for each quarter.
• Ensure the team follows best practices in development, testing, and deployment while maintaining consistency with the overall product architecture.
• Take an active role in writing code alongside your team, providing both guidance and hands-on support when needed.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning within the team, ensuring each engineer has the skills, tools, and support to succeed.
• Ensure the solution is continuously evolving with the latest technologies and best practices in the industry.
• Be a key driver in maintaining strict development processes, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, QA, and operations, to ensure seamless project execution.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:

• 3 years experience as a tech lead. Have experience in JVM/.NET/pgPLSQL. Be ready to code with the team.
• Strong technical expertise in JVM, .NET, and pgPLSQL, with hands-on coding experience in these technologies.
• Proven ability to lead by example, coding alongside the team while ensuring best practices and high-quality deliverables.
• Expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and scaling software solutions for long-term growth.
• Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on empowering your team to grow, innovate, and thrive.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong understanding of security best practices and how to implement them in the software development lifecycle.
• A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to manage risks and overcome challenges in fast-paced environments.
