System Administrator
Skills/Competences:
- Deploying software, creating user groups and operating system policies across the entire IT network
- Administration of Windows and Linux Servers
- Experience with server roles (AD, DNS, NTP, RDS, CA, IIS, File Server, Print Server, WSUS)
- Experience in MSSQL administration (Backup, cluster configuration and maintenance)
- Installing, configuring and maintaining software (Windows, Linux, MacOS), hardware (HP Proliant, HP MSA), network (Cisco, Arista,
Fortigate, Forcepoint, Juniper) and application components of the IT systems - Understanding the SAN and Storage technologies including underlying fabric
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving software, hardware and networking issues
- Ensuring proper and secure storage, backup and retrieval of data (Veeam)
- Replacing and upgrading outdated or defective components (visits to data centre located in central London required)
- Identifying and implementing new strategies for optimal computer system operations
- Enforcing security best practices to prevent cyber attacks and security breaches
- Documenting internal processes for achieving optimal performance of computer systems, keeping up to date CMDB
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware)
- Experience working with MDM solutions (Intune, Jamf)
- Collaboration with DevOps, Security, Monitoring, DBA teams on common tasks and projects
Desired skills/competences:
- Experience working with collaboration tools (Slack, Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence)
- Experience writing automation scripts in PowerShell is a plus
- Extensive experience with e-mail services (Google Workspace) is a plus
- Experience in building fault-tolerant solutions
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Packer is a plus
- Experience with GitLab is a plus
- Experience with AWS is a plus
- Experience with Opensearch is a plus
- Experience with Cloudflare is a plus
- Basic understanding of financial processes and terminology relevant to the fintech industry.
